Wild Fires

The wildfires in San Diego have now caused the evacuation of Fallbrook. My mom is fine, up in LA now, but I wonder about how all the other Fallbrookians I know are doing. I hope everyone is away and that everyone returns to their homes soon. Here is a good map showing what burned in 2003, what has burned now (as of 1300 today) and what is evacuated for anyone who is wondering.

Adam I'm glad to hear that your mom is safe. I've been distracted with this all afternoon--I just keep checking the Village News and the North County Times. I haven't been able to figure out where my Yoga Center friends are. Claire's folks are currently trying to evacuate through Camp Pendleton, but apparently the cars are just standing still trying to get through gate. I had word from Charlie a while ago that his mom was still trying to figure out if she needed to go. I've never reacted to an emergency in this much of an anxious-parent fashion before! The Atkinsons are supposed to call me when they get to L.B. with their cat, but I have a feeling it will be very late Central Time by then. Thanks for blogging!

As mentioned, I am glued to the NC Times website, where people who haven't evacuated FB keep posting comments. According to one recent post, Robertito's is still open. God bless our town.
