A Prarie Home Companion...
I just finished watching this movie. It's long, and kind of slow, but a really good movie nonetheless. I wont go into the whole story, but there are some really interesting overtones to it which reminded me of what I thought about while watching Children of Men. I highly reccomend it to anyone in the mood to watch a movie that makes you question lots of things, but gives you little answer.

Adam, you're going to have to explain yourself there, for two counts of vague praise for movies that I have nothing nice to say about except that I paid about a dollar each for DVDs of them in Vietnam. Prairie Home Companion seemed at best compelling evidence of why the show, and especially Garrison Keillor, with all due respect, is successful in *radio*; Children of Men was so bad that (Claire and James and) I stopped it partway through by unanimous vote. (Although, to be honest, James only agreed because I left him the DVD to watch on his own. He has not followed through with any report on what it was like.)
So in Children of Men I liked the jump starting the car scene and the street fighting scene but the dialog sucked major choadillia.
