Hi, I'm a friend of Claire's and check your blog sometimes. I really appreciated this article. I am a little concerned that maybe these two are being exploited but I'm choosing to focus on the admistrations comments and hoping the student body trully picked them because they are fun and loving people. Anyway, it is good to find reminders that all of California isn't Orange County. I have a really bad impression of Cali usually since I grew up in OC, but it's good to know that just 20 minuets away people arent as focused on looks and adhering to norms.
Yeah, I had the same fear at first. But, I found the dude on myspace, and he seemed happy about it in a genuine sense, and he seems like the kind of kid who wouldn't stand for exploiting the girl like that, so I took an optomistic view of it...something I don't do too often. As for the OC, yeah...don't you hate that spat of TV shows that came out recently that just give the people I spent my whole youth trying to avoid a national spotlight?
Are you from OC too? Claire actually got me sucked into The OC for a while because there was a character who hated OC and that made me happy... The new Bravo show, "The Real Housewives of OC" takes place in the snooty gated community that my hs backed up to and that I had to deal with from the time I was five until I escaped at 18. Ugh!
Glad you found the guy on myspace and everything is on the up and up. Good work.
